Mrs. Helen Schumann Satterfield

Satterfield, Helen Schumann (95), went to be with her Lord, her husband, heavenly family and friends, November 1, 2015. She was surrounded by her family at the time. Helen was an Executive Secretary, retired from Provident Life and Accident Insurance Company, and a member of Wesley Memorial UMC in Chattanooga, TN. Mimi, as she was known by her friends, attended church with her family at Sanlando UMC in Longwood, FL, and was an active member of their senior lunch group, Red Hats, and Faith Circle. Helen was preceded in death by her parents William Schumann (Zyrardow, Germany) and Addrianna (Ann) Williams Schumann (Dover, NJ). Also preceding her in death were her husband John Elliott Satterfield (Apison, TN) and her sister-in-law Althea Lorraine McDonald (Tennessee).Surviving are her daughter and son-in-law Dr. Carol and Mr. Greg Tate of Lake Mary, FL., and her granddaughters Katherine and Elizabeth Tate. The family will hold a viewing from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Friday November 6, 2015, at Chattanooga Funeral Home, North, and a grave side service beginning at 1:00 p.m. at Hamilton Memorial Gardens in Hixson. Pall bearers will be Tim White, David Powell, Randy Cagle, and Jason, Jared, and Greg Thornton.Honorary pallbearers will be Tim White II, Tyler Gross, Adam Rich, and Drew Cagle. In lieu of flowers, the family asks for contributions to Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church, 6314 East Brainerd Rd, Chattanooga, TN 37421; or to Hospice of the Comforter, 601 East Altamonte Dr., Altamonte Springs, FL 32701.
