Eloise M. Unsworth, 89, of Deltona passed away on Thursday December 14, 2017 at the Halifax Hospice West Volusia Care Center in Orange City, FL. Eloise was born on November 7, 1928 in Petersburg, Virginia; the daughter of James Marvin Moody and Nonie Tatum Moody. She graduated from Petersburg High School with honors in 1946 and attended Memorial Methodist Church. Eloise married William O’Meara Unsworth II, who preceded her in death. She pursued careers as both a real estate broker and in civil service with the offices of the US Navy. She retired from Federal Service in 1995. She then worked part time as secretary for Grace Fellowship Congregational Church in Sanford. Eloise enjoyed dancing, playing the piano and organ, singing in the choir, big band music, and shopping. Her greatest joys came when spending time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Eloise leaves behind to cherish her memory, her children Ernest M. Holleman Jr, Suzanne Rupert and James Harry Unsworth, grandchildren Amy Holleman, Julie Connolly, Brittany Dearolf, Kyle Rupert and Tyler Unsworth and 5 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, siblings Mary Gish, James Marvin Moody Jr, Frances Menster, and a grandson Patrick Holleman. She will be sadly missed by her family and friends.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 19, 2017 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Baldwin Fairchild Oaklawn Chapel in Sanford. Funeral services officiated by Pastor Larry Leonard will take place Wednesday, December 20, 2017 in the funeral home beginning at 10:30 AM. Burial will follow in Oaklawn Park Cemetery, Sanford. Immediately following the burial will be a Reception/Luncheon at Susie & Mike Rupert’s Residence at 242 Council Bluffs Dr, Deltona, FL. Eloise’s family suggest donations be made to Halifax Hospice in her honor, in lieu of flowers.
