Donald S. Puryear went to be with the Lord on July 27, 2018. Born in South Hill Va. on April 7, 1939.Graduated from South Hill High School 1957. Moved to Nashville, TN. with his mother and brother where he went to diesel engine school. Moved next door to his future wife, Wanda Jane Adkison. They married just 4 months after they met, on May 24, 1958. He went to college in Nashville and then went to work for Baird Ward Printing Company. After many moves and much schooling, he went to work for Peterbilt of Orlando. After several years, he opened his own business, Truck and Body Services of Orlando, Inc. on Eunice Ave in Orlando, Fl. He was happy in what he was doing and loved his three children, Tammy Jane, Michael Smith and Jeffery Lee Puryear. He had 11 Grandchildren and 2 Great Grandchildren. He was an avid golfer and played golf at Glen Abbey Country Club in Debary where he also lived. He played guitar and bass guitar and had his own band, The Crossroads, that played at many venues such as Disney, Elks Lodges, Moose Clubs and specialty events such as the Yellow Jacket fund raisers and private functions. He joined Central Baptist Church in Sanford Fl. where until his illness he attended. Visitation for Donald is set for Saturday August 4, 2018 from 10:00 A.M. ~ 11:00 A.M. at Central Baptist Church, located at 3101 FL-46, Sanford, FL 32771. The funeral service will commence at 11:00 A.M. The interment will immediately follow the funeral service at Oaklawn Park Cemetery, located at 5000 County Road 46A, Sanford, Florida 32771.
