Donald C. Johnson, 62, died peacefully in the Lord on January 16, 2019, at Central Florida Regional Hospital, Sanford, Florida. He was born to Marjorie and Charles Johnson on October 18, 1956 in Springfield, MA, where he spent most of his childhood.
After moving to Winter Park in 1967, Don learned to play the drums which led to his performing in school bands, a teen band, and a Rock & Roll dance band called “Cactus Jack and the Cadillacs.” He was an original member of the dance band playing for 25 years throughout the state of Florida.
Don attended Oviedo High School and graduated with an Associate Degree from Seminole Junior College. He was employed for 18 years as a Utilities Inspector for the Environmental Services Department of Seminole County.
He leaves his fiancée, Cynthia Faulk of Deland FL, his two sisters, Lois Stortz of Fort Meade, FL, and Charlene (Steven) Sigel from Worcester, MA, sons, Greg and Kyle Johnson of Lake Mary, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Don is best remembered for his warm heart, friendly personality and hearty laughter. He was enthusiastic about music, trains, sports, and politics.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Celebration of Life Service on Saturday, February 9th at 12:00 at Baldwin Fairchild Oaklawn Chapel; 5000 County Road 46A; Sanford, FL. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in Don's honor to The American Lung Association.
