Was born in Orlando, Florida but raised in Seminole County, FL. She attended Seminole HS in Sanford but graduated for General William Mitchell HS in Colorado Springs, CO.
Debbie worked at Wendy’s, Century 21 Real Estate, RGIS, and USPS but made a career at the Seminole County Property Appraiser’s Office. She retired after 30 years and moved to Austin, TX, to be a full time “Grandmalita”. She was so happy to be with her baby girl and now baby granddaughter.
Debbie was very curious and loved to learn. She received a general AA degree and an AS in Construction Technology from Seminole State College. She built a model of the bus station located in downtown Orlando which wowed her instructor. She took on a 52 week cake baking challenge...the cakes were as delicious to eat as they were to look at. Her other talents were video games, board games, card games, social games such as Bunco, quilting, motor cycling, cooking, and her latest talent was crocheting. Debbie, for 35 years was denied the opportunity to have a dog in her life because her husband has severe allergies. Three years ago, Nancy told her about a breed she read about...the American Hairless Terrier. This breed was a game changer. Her husband was able to be around the dog without any signs of allergy. Soon after, Dr. Palmer entered her life. The following year, Buffy became part of the family also. She decided to start showing Dr. Palmer and that opened her up to another family of friends. Her love for these 2 dogs was a god send. The awful Covid period made their bond so very strong.
She was generous with her time by volunteering as a youth group mother and crocheting hats for cancer patients. Due to her cancer diagnosis, she also spent time researching. She shared her knowledge with other cancer patients online and shared her trials and tribulation with family and friends on Facebook.
She is survived by her husband of 38 years, Angel, daughter Nancy, son Angel III, sister Julie, brothers Mark and Shawn, and granddaughters Karolina and Marceline.
Debra will be buried on Friday, Jan. 22, 2021, at 1 pm at the National Cemetery in Bushnell, FL.
