David Roland Scott

David Roland Scott (Dave) of Sanford, Florida has passed away at the age of 80 years old. He lived on Hard Rock Cove in Sanford, Florida

He was born in Fort Payne, Alabama on March 07, 1944. Dave Scott graduated with his GED from Seminole State College. Dave Scott had a career as a mechanic. Dave Scott was a member of the Celery City Cruisers, Daytona Turkey Run and involved in the Mud Truck Racing Family. He had a passion for Classic Cars, Fishing and Mud Racing.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Grady and Flora Scott and brother, Edward Scott.

He is survived by his sister, Helen Atkinson and his four children – Flora Sweat (Bonnie), David Scott Jr. (Davey), John Scott (Johnny) and Tamara Pettis (Tammi). He is also survived by two (2) son in laws – Barry Sweat and Rick Pettis and daughter in law, Keri Scott

Dave Scott had 8 grandchildren– Jessica Jones, Scott Sweat, Grady Scott, David Scott III, Kipp Scott, Lane Scott, Wyatt Pettis and Chuck Sweat

Dave Scott had 14 Great grandchildren – Trace Jones, Colton Jones, Lilly Jones, Shelby Scott, Summer Scott, Grady Scott, Jasper Pettis, Bryson Scott, Darian Sweat, Alea Carpenter, Preston Carpenter, Alex Dykes, Haidyn Dykes and Bradley Sweat

The family will receive friends from 5:00 pm - 8:00 pm on Thursday, September 19, 2024 at Baldwin Fairchild Funeral Home, 5000 CR 46A, Sanford, Florida 32771.

The funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm on Friday, September 20, 2024 at the funeral home with interment to follow in Oaklawn Park Cemetery.

Following the service, the family will host a reception and celebration of Mr. Scott at Horsepower Ranch, 280 Campbell Ranch Run, Geneva, FL 32732.

Dave Scott was a simple and honest man. His favorite motto was,

“A MAN IS ONLY AS GOOD AS HIS WORD”
