Daniel Carl “DC” Estry, born January 26, 1985, in Lexington, Mississippi to Karen Estry and Daniel J. Estry. DC resided in Venezuela, South America from September 1987 until May 1999. Daniel Carl received a Christian Baptism on February 2, 1992, at Cassia Baptist Church, Eustis, Florida by his father, Daniel J. Estry. After returning to Florida, DC volunteered hundreds of hours working within the Nature Center of the Orlando Science Museum. He earned his second degree black belt in Tae Kwon Do in the spring of 2003. Daniel Carl graduated Valedictorian from Gold Medal Honors Academy, DeLand, Florida May 2003. He Received a Presidential Scholarship from Stetson University, DeLand, Florida August 2003. DC enlisted with the U.S. Army August 2007 served one year in Iraq 2010, in military intelligence, and was honorably discharged October 2013 after earning the rank of Specialist. During his service in the U.S. Army, DC received two Army Commendation Medals, an Iraq Campaign Medal with Campaign Star, and Overseas Service Ribbon. Daniel Carl earned his Associate Science Degree in computer electronic technology December 2008 from Cochise College, Fort Huachuca, Arizona. DC was known for his deep love for and commitment to his family, his love for reading and creative writing, his gifted intelligence and deep appreciation for animals. Daniel Carl is survived by his wife, Elizabeth Neil Glander, mother Karen K. Estry, of Deltona, FL, father Daniel J. Estry, of Winter Park, FL, brother Captain Jonathan W. Estry of New Bern, NC, sisters Natalie Duffy, of Deltona, FL, Amelia Emily-Kay Estry of Tallahassee, FL, Abigail V. Estry, of Deltona, FL, maternal grandmother Florence J. Glazier, of Sanford, FL, and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and second cousins. A graveside funeral service will be held Friday, December 18, 2015, at 1:00 p.m., at the Baldwin Fairchild Oaklawn Chapel, 5000 County Road 46A, Sanford, FL, with a public viewing Thursday, December 17th from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Flowers can be sent to the Baldwin-Fairchild Oaklawn Chapel at the address listed above.
