Clara M Fletemeyer

Clara M. Fletemeyer,101, of Hayesville, North Carolina passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 3, 2025. Clara was born in Plymouth, Pennsylvania to the late Martin and Helen Solo. As a military wife she had also lived in Texas and Florida. She retired from a long career in banking and loved her life in rural Central Florida, and later in New Smyrna Beach, Florida where her extended family enjoyed visiting. She was known affectionately as the matriarch of her family, which spans five generations.

In addition to her parents, Clara was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Fletemeyer; her son, Joseph Hargreave; her sister, Helen Jones; and infant brother and sister, Walter and Mary Solo.

Clara is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Dee and Henry Schumacher; three granddaughters and their husbands, Kim and Mike Bougoulias, Debbie and Ken Goff, and Cindy and Rod Metz; two nieces and their husbands, Linda and John Koterba, and Gail and Joe Kreitzer; seven great grandchildren, four great-great grandchildren, as well as grand and great- grand nieces.

Clara lived by the following quote “I live for those who love me. For those who know me true. For the heaven that smiles above me and waits my coming too”.

A private memorial service and burial will be held in Florida at a later date.
