Augie Pimentel (46), beloved husband and father, son, brother and friend passed away on January 19, 2020, in Sanford FL. Augie was born in Jersey City, New Jersey, on August 11, 1973. He is survived by his wife Shannon and their son Julian, his parents Augusto Sr. and Miriam Pimentel and his sister Jessica Pimentel, as well as his in-laws, Frank and Pam Boni and Andi Cacciatore along with many aunts, uncles and cousins.
Augie was a Branch Manager for Enterprise Rent-A-Car, where his professional life was focused on mentoring his co-workers’ and supporting their success.
In 2007, he was diagnosed with Common Variable Immune Deficiency (CVID) and hospitalized with sepsis for over a month. In story book fashion, his future wife Shannon, never left his bedside and championed his recovery. While he was left with several health struggles, he never slowed down. He married Shannon in 2009 and fathered a beautiful son, Julian in 2015.
Augie was that guy you called when you didn’t have Google. He knew sports and movie trivia, as well as world history like no one else. He loved the Yankees and The U and liked to talk about both. He was a current event and political issue savant, who could debate anyone and always leave them laughing and looking forward to the next time.
He was a kind and charismatic man who just naturally put his family and friends ahead of himself. He enjoyed a contagious confidence that drew others to him and made him that go-to-guy for advice or answers. As condolences from friends and co-workers have reached his family every comment described how he impacted their lives, helped them at work or simply listened. No matter who you were or what you needed, Augie was there for you.
While he dealt with health issues you never knew, he was never down or bitter and always more concerned with problems faced by others. Augie was a man so happy and so filled with joy you had to smile every time he entered a room.
Although his friends and family spoke endlessly of his sense of humor, his optimism and his search engine knowledge, it was his commitment and love for his wife, Shannon that inspired them all. Everyone who knew them described their extraordinary devotion to one another. Augie loved Shannon unconditionally and devoted his life to making a safe and happy home for her and Julian.
