Terry was born in Hendersonville, NC, on June 8, 1948 to Norman Oscar Suttles and Ruth Ida Pressley Suttles. He was predeceased by three sisters: Frances Farrell, Windy Allen and Jeannie Pruitt Boggs. Surviving Terry are his sister Betty Vaughan, brother Larry Suttles, three daughters Tracy Sarigiannis (Steven), Mackenzie Bolt (Edward) and Molly Suttles (Tyler), grandson Edward Bolt and many nieces and nephews.
Shortly after Terry was born, his mother relocated the family to Sandston, Virginia where he and his 5 older siblings were raised. Terry proudly served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. After his service was complete, Terry began what would be a long career in the telecommunications industry when he took a job as a telephone installer with the C&P Telephone Company of Virginia. Over the next 40 years, Terry’s career led him from C&P in Richmond to AT&T in Atlanta, then on to the Meta Consulting Group and finally to start his own consulting business, Value Sourcing Solutions. He was proud to make it a family business with daughter Tracy.
Terry lived a very full life. He was an avid tennis player, scuba diver, skier, motorcyclist, voracious reader, and world traveler. He was an incredibly generous man. Both family and friends valued his wisdom, guidance and constant support.
Above all, Terry’s family was his pride and joy. He was the glue that bonded the family and loved nothing more than getting everyone together for a big family gathering. He delighted in creating memorable experiences for his three daughters who were the center of his world.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, July 30, 4:00 p.m. at the Big Sandy United Methodist Church in Leicester, North Carolina. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to the Cambodian Children’s Fund where Terry was an active sponsor. www.cambodianchildrensfund.org/dads-lasting-legacy
