I just was searching for Steve Fortgang on goggle and sadly found out about his passing.  Our parents were good friends and we were good buddies  in the 1950's at Temple Emanual at Parkchester.  Also played handball at Castle Hill poo-- Steve was  a significantly better player.  We went to the  Bronx High School of Science and he helped me join the team.  Deep condolences to his family.  I have fond memories of him.

Mr. Fortgang was a patient at our dental office. This man put a smile on all of our faces every time he walked through the doors. He never once came in with out a printed joke for us all or souvenirs  of some sort. His love for his family and the braves was amazing. We are so sorry to hear of his passing . Just know this man lit up the room and made everyone smile with his contagious personality. Until we meet again 💖  

Greg  & Wayne , we are so sorry about your Dad , we have so many fond  memories of your Dad & Mom , when we all were younger. Ball Games . Going to the lake , with our boats , the one time we were coming back from West Point Lake . And your Dad billfold flew out of the boat . Steve and I go way back to our Castle Hill days in the 1950’s and 1960’s.  We were part of a group, including Harriet, that played handball together.   I have such wonderful memories of our youth together.  When I moved to Atlanta Steve and Harriet welcomed me and treated me like family.  I stayed in their home for many months until my family was able to move to Atlanta. I will never forget such kindness.  My condolences to his family.  Rest In Peace Steve.

Steve was my friend and handball partner at Castle Hill Beach Club in the Bronx in the 1950's. I have fond memories of those times. We had not been communicating since then but strangely I suddenly started thinking of Steve out of the blue just yesterday.  Now I am recounting some of those memories and wish we had stayed in touch. My condolences to all of Steve's family. Steve was one of the good people in my life!  

Very sorry for your family’s loss. I only met Wayne’s Dad a few times (college). Remember his fantastic sense of humor and the love he had for his wife and  both his sons. I hope as you grieve his loss that you all can make time to celebrate his life. 

Im so sorry to see this. I have really fun memories of Steve when he and Harriet, my first cousin, first got together, waterskiing, cookouts... all fin!  May he rest in peace. 

My big brother, Steve, who I have adored forever. He will always be with me.

Steve and Hesh were two of the first friends i met after meeting Ed...we did a lot together over the years..
At first we lived near each other in Bayside, walked our babies together.    Spent years in Castle Hill with our growing families.  I drove us in my red rambler station wagon.   
We visited in Ga...They visited us in Florida ..
A treasured friendship!!
RIP Steve with your beloved , beautiful Harriet..❤️❤️

He was always so kind to our family at all the fortgang gatherings over the years. That sly smile will live on in Greg.  God Bless you all during this time
