Mr. Robert Rougelot Prechter, Sr., 93, of Atlanta passed away on May 4, 2013. He was born in New Orleans, Louisiana on December 20, 1919. He graduated with honors from Tulane University at age 20, receiving a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering. He moved to Schenectady, New York in 1940 to join the engineering department at General Electric headquarters. It was there that he met his future wife, Barbara Jean Anderson. They were married on May 25, 1948 and later moved with their three children to Atlanta in 1956. He was active in the Republican Party in Fulton County and served as Vice Chairman in 1968-9. Upon his retirement from General Electric, he and Barbara traveled the world. He loved fishing, boating, gardening, project design and family. He is survived by his wife, Barbara Anderson Prechter, three children, Robert Prechter, Jr. and his wife Robin, Gary Prechter and his wife Margo, and Kristen P. Sykes and her husband Len, as well as eight grandchildren, Dana Prechter, Elliott Prechter, Michael Prechter, Christopher Prechter, Matthew Prechter, Kathryn Prechter, Brandt Sykes and Ashley Ball. A private visitation and graveside service will be held at the Sandy Springs Chapel, 136 Mt Vernon Highway, Sandy Springs, Georgia 30328, on May 11, 2013.
