Robert Lee Carter of Sandy Springs passed away on November 21, 2012. Mr. Carter was born in Atlanta on November 28, 1922 and graduated from Commercial High School in 1940. He worked for the Pullman Co. until 1942, when he volunteered for the US Navy. After boot camp, he was assigned to the Navy V-12 unit at the University of Miami and later the Georgia Tech V-12 unit. Upon retiring from the Navy in 1947, he was employed by Bradford Sales C. in Atlanta, as a plumbing manufacture representative calling on customers throughout the state of Georgia. He was elected Chairman of the Board in 1988. Mr. Carter had a special place in his heart for Georgia Tech football, as his cousin, Clint Castleberry, was the only player ever to have his #19 jersey retired at Tech. He was preceded in death by his wife, Francis Carter and his son, Kevin Eugene Carter. He is survived by his son Robert Clint Carter and his daughter-in-law Nancy Carter of Sandy Springs, GA. The family will receive friends Monday, November 26, 2012 from 1:00-2:00 p.m. at H.M. Patterson & Son-Arlington Chapel. A funeral service will be held following the visitation at 2:00 p.m. Monday, November 26, 2012 at H.M. Patterson-Arlington Chapel, 173 Allen Rd, Sandy Springs, GA 30328.
