Richard Joseph Gentner (formerly of Alpharetta) born April 24, 1936 in Batavia, NY passed away peacefully Saturday, May 30, 2015 in Atlanta, GA after his courageous battle with Alzheimer's. Richard was 79 years old. He is survived by his son, Chris Gentner Sr.(Heather) of Sandy Springs, GA and his daughter, Dea Gentner, of Austin, TX. He is also survived by his grandson, Christopher Daniel Jr. "CJ" Gentner, and granddaughter, Kyleigh Elizabeth Gentner, both of Sandy Springs, GA. Richard was preceded in death by his parents, Loren and Merna Gentner of Batavia, NY and his sister, Patricia Ellen Gentner of Washington, DC. Richard served in the United States Marine Corps and will be laid to rest at St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Batavia, NY with a family graveside service with Military Honors.
