Her loving soul shined brightly as an adoring and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. With her death, she leaves her membership for many years with the Dunwoody Baptist Church. Although her career was not long term, as she decided to become a full-time housewife and mother in 1953, she was employed as an assistant to a professional photographer in Bradenton, Florida and was an accountant for over seven years at Merita Bread located in downtown Atlanta. Throughout her life, Rachel lived in numerous cities including Bradenton, FL, Flushing, MI, Dallas, TX, Naperville, IL, and Flint, MI, either due in part to WWII or transfers she and her family gladly accepted on behalf of her husband's progression and successful career with General Motors. With each home, her originality was reflected in her artistic ability, her gardening, and her cooking. As a Mother and Grandmother, Rachel will always be remembered for having faith in God and encouraging her family and others as well to follow in faith. To her, she possessed only ordinary qualities, but those who knew and loved her were cognizant that everything about her was extraordinary. The viewing will be held at H.M. Patterson and Son, Arlington Chapel on Monday, December 22, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. followed by a graveside service at Arlington Memorial Park at 11:30 a.m.
