

Born in 1919 in Atlanta, Ga, Mildred graduated from Chamblee high school at the age of 15 where she was voted “most optimistic” in her class while also achieving a perfect attendance record. Mildred worked at Sears & Roebuck in its Atlanta office for 12 years before marrying Steve Collins and giving birth to four children. Mildred enjoyed going to Atlanta Crackers (presently the Atlanta Braves) baseball games in Ponce De Leon Park, right across from where she worked.She loved spending time with her children and other family members, and was known for her kindness and positive attitude.
She is survived by all four of her children: June Clark, Keith Collins, Steve Collins and Forrest Collins, nine grandchildren: Dana Campbell, Taylor Clark, Caryn Briggs, Hunter Collins, Cole Collins, Remington Collins, Rachel Collins, Cameron Collins and Natalie Collins, and three great-grandchildren: Justin Cook, Stella Briggs and Leo Briggs . Her husband, Steve Collins and two grandchildren, Michelle Campbell and Andrew Collins, precede her in death.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Annandale Village, 3500 Annandale Lane, Suwanee, Ga 30024, in honor of Steve Collins.
Funeral services will be conducted graveside at Arlington Memorial Park in Sandy Springs at noon Saturday with a reception immediately following.
