Mark Criswell

Mark Ian Menzies Criswell, age 61, of Vining’s, GA passed away on Saturday, March 9, 2024. Mark was born December 13, 1962 in Baltimore, MD to the late M. James and Madelon Criswell of St. Simons, GA formerly of Dunwoody, GA. Mark is also preceded in death by his brother, Richard McNeil Criswell.

Mr. Criswell was a 1981 graduate of North Springs High School in Dunwoody, GA and attended West Georgia College. He was a kind and gentle soul who was loved and admired by all that knew him. He loved to play golf and was an avid UGA Bulldogs, Atlanta Braves and Falcons fan. A leader in his industry, Mark was highly respected in the geotextiles community where he worked for 28 years. He liked referring to himself as the Dirt Doctor.

Mark is survived by his wife, Angie his stepdaughter Brittany Carter her husband Jason, their children Dylan and Caroline; his daughter Ashley Ann Tate and her husband Justin Tate, son, Ian Chase Criswell, daughter Peyton Alexandria Criswell; grandchildren Briana Tate, Anderew Tate, Kensleigh Criswell, Grey Criswell of Woodstock, GA; sister Bonnie Owenby of Sugar Hill, GA and Brother James R. Criswell of San Diego, CA; several nieces, nephews and cousins.

A visitation for Mark will be held Saturday, March 16, 2024 from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Sandy Springs Chapel, with a celebration of life following at 3:00 PM. A reception will immediately follow the service until 5:00 PM at the funeral home.
