Marilyn Helen Muir, 71 of Marietta, died April 22, 2016. Mrs. Muir was born May 5, 1944, in Brownwood, Texas, and was the daughter of the late Tom and Maxine Meikle of Rochester, New York. She graduated from Irondequoit High School, class of 1962, attended Wittenberg University and graduated from the Rochester Business Institute in 1966. She completed United Air Lines Flight Attendant training in March 1967. While her husband, David, was in Vietnam, she worked in the Rochester area to support the Marine Corps Civic Action program in Chu Lai, RVN. A long-time resident of Marietta, GA(East Cobb), she worked many years with Cobb Allergy & Asthma/Dr. Stanley Fineman where she developed many friendships. In 2008, Marilyn & David moved to Santa Barbara, CA, while maintaining permanent residence in Marietta. Marilyn died in Montecito, CA. Marilyn was preceded in death by her son, David T. Muir and is survived by her husband of 48 years, David W. Muir; daughter, Suzy Muir Driskill (Scott); and sister Susan M. Larson (Craig). In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research. A memorial service will be Wednesday, May 25, 2016 at 2 o’clock with a reception following the service at H. M. Patterson and Son, Arlington Chapel, 173 Allen Rd., NE, Sandy Springs, GA 30328.
