.Lamar “David” Williams, Sr. of Dawsonville, Georgia passed away on September 18, 2017 from multiple health issues. He was the last child of Mamie Lou Crook Williams and Perry David Williams, born October 21, 1939. He grew up in Sandy Springs, graduated from North Fulton High School in 1957 and received a BBA degree from the University of Georgia in 1961 where he was a member of Alpha Kappa Psi Professional Fraternity. Also, he was a member of the Sandy Springs Jaycees, North DeKalb Lions Club, Buckhead Boys, auxiliary member of Wally Boys Association, and the Early Ford V-8 Club. He was elected to Life Member of the Million Dollar Club awarded by the Atlanta Board of Realtors. He is a member of First United Methodist Church of Chamblee where he was Vice President, then President of his Sunday School Class. He enjoyed attending GA Bulldogs Football games and he had season tickets from 1966 to the present. David never meet a stranger and always remembered everyone he ever met. He had a sense of humor and loved to tell jokes. He remembered and abundance of trivia about football, high school and old times with family. One of his hobbies was finding long lost friends and classmates and was said to have missed his calling by not being a private investigator. He loved his family dearly and as the family grew so did his love. He loved living on Lake Lanier and boating with his family, friends and especially with his grandchildren. He was predeceased by his parents, brothers Cecil P. Williams and Dean L. Williams, Sister Virginia Seagraves, Carolyn Clokey and Monteen Bales. He is survived by the love of his life, Lois Garrett Williams, wife of 53 years, sons Lamar David (Marty) Williams, Jr. and Mia, Scott Garrett Williams and Amy. Grandchildren Kennedy, Kaden, Kolby, Charlotte, Perry, Elizabeth and Caroline all of Cumming GA. Sister Louise Chapin and Lloyd of St. Petersburg, FL. And several nieces and nephews. Services will be held at Sandy Springs Chapel with visitation on Thursday September 21, from 6-8 pm. The Funeral Service will be at Sandy Springs Chapel on Friday September 22, 2017 at 11 am with burial to follow at Arlington Memorial Park Cemetery. Reception will follow the burial back at Sandy Springs Chapel.
