Julie Emmert was born December 2, 1956, in Atlanta, GA, to CH “Red” Emmert and Jean Emmert. As a child and young woman Julie was like a wild flower with a beautiful spirit. She loved playing barbies and leg wrestling with her big sister Merrill. As a teenager, Julie was full of determination to be active in high school cheerleading, drill team, and holding office for her class. As an adult and a mother, Julie’s determination never stopped. She was a dedicated mom active in the PTA, Girl Scout leader, and cheerleading coach. More than anything, she loved being a grandmother, a Mema.
Julie was a devout sports fan. She loved her Auburn Tigers, Atlanta Falcons and Braves.
Julie is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Sara & Jacob Heaven and grandchildren Ellie & Ian; her sister and brother-in-law, Merrill and Louis Kennedy, nieces Leslie and Laura, and her extended family David and Melissa Humphreys and Candice Derendorf. Julie’s world revolved around her family and was so proud of them.
