Josephine Staresinich of Sandy Springs, GA died suddenly in her home on March 24, 2017 at the age of 92. She had been suffering from Nystagmus and dementia but was able to live comfortably in her home thanks to the wonderful caregivers from Visiting Angels of Roswell. Josephine was born in Johnstown PA to a family with six siblings. In 1946, she married John Staresinich also of Johnstown. They had two children, Craig and Donna. They lived in Massapequa NY, then moved to the Philippines and Japan in the 1950’s and then settled in Atlanta Georgia when John became Vice President and Controller of The Coca Cola Corporation. Josephine lost her beloved husband in 1991. Josephine lived alone until her passing but enjoyed the love of her many friends and family. During her life she worked as a cosmetics consultant, ballet and exercise instructor and was an accomplished oil painter on canvas and ceramics. She loved her harmonica and all of her friends and family would get a harmonica rendition of happy birthday every year. Just six months ago Josephine lost her only daughter, Donna, to cancer. She is survived by her son, Craig Staresinich and his wife Nita Amar; two granddaughters, Tara Terlecki and Dawn Petrillo; five great-grandchildren, Violet Penuelas, Charlotte and Anthony Petrillo, Bethany and Jamie Terlecki. She also loved dearly, 10 nieces and nephews and many close family friends who called her “Aunt Jo”. The family would like to thank the caregivers at Visiting Angels for taking such good care of Josephine during the last several years and also thank her neighbors and friends in Atlanta for looking after her and loving her. The family will receive friends Saturday, April 1, 2017 from 4 to 6 o’clock at H.M. Patterson and Son, Arlington Chapel, 173 Allen Rd., NE, Sandy Springs, GA 30328. Funeral services will be Sunday, April 2, 2017 at 11 o’clock at Patterson’s Arlington Chapel. Interment will follow at Arlington Memorial Park.
