"With profound sadness we announce the passing of Jason Fisher, a devoted husband, a loving son, an amazing brother and a loyal friend to all whose lives he touched. Jason passed away on February 25, 2019, at the age of 31 surrounded by family at Emory Saint Joseph’s hospital after a valiant four-year battle against malignant peripheral nerve sheath tumor a rare form of sarcoma. His wife Lindsey King Fisher, parents Leah Paves Fisher and Frank James Fisher, sister Jacquelyn Dolores Fisher, brother Justin Nash Fisher, sister Toni Renz and her husband Pat Renz, sister Terri Fata and her husband Greg Fata, and his loving dog Potter Bear Fisher carry on his spirit. His beloved Grammy Dolores Marie Smith preceded him in death.
Jason was born on October 15, 1987 in Orange, California at Saint Joseph’s Hospital. He moved to Atlanta, Georgia in 1990 where he excelled and achieved a vast array of accomplishments. Jason graduated with honors from Centennial High School and received a full scholarship to Kennesaw State University, where he received a bachelor's degree in International Business and Accounting. He was an exceptional decathlete and excelled at track and field. Jason was bilingual, and utilized his Spanish during his time studying abroad in Spain. Jason was a manager at the Sheraton hotel, a self-taught Sous Chef at several bustling Atlanta restaurants, ran his own successful catering business, was a licensed real-estate agent, and was the managing partner of a popular Atlanta bar, Bottle Rocket. Jason truly was a man of many talents, and a man who touched even more lives.
Jason relished the good things in life including music, travel, golf, and his love and passion for cooking. He had a quiet dignity, respecting himself the way he respected others. He loved his wife Lindsey with every ounce of his soul, his visible affection overcoming his usual reserve. His faithfulness to the important people in his life could be seen in his commitment to maintaining deep-rooted relationships with everyone he loved. Throughout his life, his incredibly sweet and affable demeanor won the trust and hearts of many, who are forever changed from witnessing his steadfast love and unwavering strength. He will be remembered most for his dedication to family and friends, his deep sense of compassion, keen intellect, and above all, his service to others. His signature gift of joy, shown through his radiant smile, contagious laughter, and fun-loving nature will never be forgotten.
Funeral arrangements are being held at H.M Patterson & Son Chapel, 173 Allen Road NE Sandy Springs, GA 30328. Friends are invited to a visitation with the family from 1:00 PM - 3:00 PM, with a Celebration of Life Service to follow at 3:00 PM on March 3, 2019.
