James E. Poteet, 83 of Sandy Springs, died February 10, 2017. Mr. Poteet graduated from The Georgia Institute of Technology and earned his MBA from The University of Virginia. He enjoyed a career in marketing and retired from The Coca Cola Company. Mr. Poteet was preceded in death by his daughter, Frances Anne Poteet and is survived by his wife of 58 years, Frances Poteet; son and daughter-in-law, James W. and Amy Poteet; and grandchildren, James Avery Poteet and Edith Anne Poteet. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to The Georgia Tech Foundation, 760 Springs St., NW, #400, Atlanta, GA 30308. Funeral services will be Thursday, February 16, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. with a reception to follow the service at H.M. Patterson and Son, Arlington Chapel, 173 Allen Rd., NE, Sandy Springs, GA 30328. Interment will be Thursday at 2:30 p.m. at Georgia National Cemetery in Canton, GA.
