Mr. James W. Brantley, 89, of Dunwoody died October 7, 2014. Born in Washington County GA, he was a veteran of WWII; was the owner of Brantley Appliance Co. in Buckhead and a member of Buckhead Baptist Church where he had served as a deacon. Survivors include his wife, Christine Brantley; Daughters, Connie Kennedy of Fort Valley, GA, Cheryl Hammen and her husband Jeffrey of Roswell, Brother Rufus Brantley of Stockbridge, grandchildren Shannon Hewett, Amy Arnold and Alex Hammen and great grandchildren, Todd Hewett, Jr. and Kennedy Arnold. Funeral Services will be held Friday, October 10, 2014 at 2 p.m. at Sandy Springs Chapel. Rev. Posey Starkey and Rev. William Givens will officiate Interment will follow in Arlington Memorial Park. Jimmy was adored and respected by everyone who met him. He loved his church, and he loved his family even more. He was a devoted husband, a doting father, and an amazing grandfather. His kindness and humor will be missed by many.
