G Bob Robert Hager

An avid runner, Bob was a walk-on in Cross Country at the University of Alabama, ultimately earning an athletic scholarship and Varsity Letter. He became an ‘A-Club’ member and Cross Country Captain his Senior Year. He continued running throughout his life, completing numerous Peachtree Road Races and a half marathon.

Bob enjoyed fishing, building models with his son and grandsons, classical music and Opera, traveling, writing poetry for his family and loved Alabama football.

Bob is survived by his wife of 62 years, Mary Hager; son and daughter-in-law, Richard and Michelle Hager; daughter and son-in-law, Susan and Neal O’Brien; grandchildren, Jamison Hager, Jack and Conor O’Brien; and sisters, Anne Lee Griggs and Betsy Raab.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Peachtree Road United Methodist Church, 3180 Peachtree Rd., NE, Atlanta, GA 30305. A memorial service is tentatively in Jan at Peachtree Road United Methodist Church
