I just learned today of Frank’s passing. I met him in 2002, when he saw an ad in the Dunwoody Crier regarding private computer lessons.  He needed to learn PowerPoint for a presentation he had to give to the Bar Association for Workers Compensation. He was a ‘quick learner, funny, and a wonderful photographer’.  We became friends due to these sessions.  But first & foremost, he was truly a delightful person & gentleman.  We met weekly for a short timeframe at his home.  After the presentation was given, he sent me an email that I still have today, telling me that “everything went smoothly and the talk looked great”.  I was also a patient of his at Resurgens.  He will truly be missed as a great friend and surgeon.  May his memory be a blessing to his family.

I first worked with Dr. Joseph at West Paces hospital when i moved to Atlanta. I later worked with him in the OR as a circulating nurse at RSC for almost 20 yrs. My husband David(anesthesiologist) also had the pleasure to work with Frank at West Paces hospital. We were both heartbroken to hear about his passing! We hope you find solace in knowing he was a wonderful person to many people!

It was with both sadness &  gratitude that I recently learned of the passing of Dr. Frank Joseph.  An exceptional surgeon, a great photo-grapher, but most of all a caring human being to all his patients and

I ran into him about 3 months ago and he was delightfully talking about Italy and that I should get my Italian citizenship. He always had good advice. I was a PA at Resurgens for 20 years. When I finished my military career of 21 years and interviewed with Resurgens in 2000, Dr Joseph was one of the people I first met. He made me feel so welcomed to the group. A good person and a kind Doctor.

I had the pleasure of working with Frank for nearly 30 years . I practiced at the Institute for Orthopedic Imaging at Northside Radiology. Over the years, Frank and I interacted often in person and by phone reviewing medical images. Frank was a consummate physician, always focused on his patient's health and committed to their recovery. Most notably, Frank was always kind and appreciative. He was a pleasure. I hadn't seen Frank in two years, since the memorial service of a mutual friend and colleague. We shared a drink and a toast. I'm glad for that. I will miss Frank.

So sorry to hear of Frank’s passing. I knew him on several different levels. As an attorney, I sent any client with a hand injury to Frank. As a husband, I sent my wife to him for a trigger point injection. As a friend,  we shared our photography passion together.  
Frank, not too long ago, stopped by to see me at the Booth Museum Photography Guild Meeting when he heard I was speaking there which was much appreciated. He always had a wonderful smile on his face and a peaceful  continence that was infectious.. I will always treasure our conversations we had about Italy, Iceland, Greenland  and other adventurers. I am honoring the families request for a private service. But rest assured I will be there in spirit. For the family and all that knew Frank may his memory be a blessing.

Frank attended many of my photography events over the years. He always had a big smile and was a joy to be around. He is an inspiration to go live life to the fullest and to always take the trip, capture the photo and cherish the memories. The SNAP community will miss him immensely.

I had the pleasure of working with Frank Joseph for around 16 years at Resurgeons in Roswell as one of the anesthesiologists with ESA.  He was always so kind to everyone.  He was always on time and very predictable.  Every time I would see Frank he would say " how's the family.... all good??"   He was kind to everyone.  We will miss him greatly. It was truly an honor to work with Dr. Joseph at Roswell Surgery Center.  His skill in surgery was evident in his patient care while his photographic artistry graced the walls of our center.   He left a beautiful mark at Roswell.  Sending my deepest sympathies.

I knew Frank from his first days in ATL and we shared many patients. He was always quick to respond to my patients and kind to them and to me.
Waylon Jennings called me from LA one night complaining that he couldn't put his left fingers on the guitar strings properly and I told him to fly to Atlanta and I would take care of him and have Frank Joseph look at his hand.  Waylon was sensitive to Native American issues and often wore a Chief Joseph black T shirt and he asked was Frank an Indian.  I told him no this was a little guy from NY.  Frank operated on him but Waylon insisted on calling him Chief Joseph so for the rest of Frank's career when I sent him patients which was frequently I would tell the patient that story and told them to call Frank CHIEF JOSEPH.  For years when Waylon would play in the area Frank would go with me and Waylon would tell the audience my doctors are in the audience Bill Whaley and Chief Joseph.

Frank was a big part of my life as a hand surgeon in Atlanta for almost 40 years. As my partner and close friend, he lived an exemplary life and was widely beloved in the medical community.  He leaves a large hole in the hearts of all who know and loved him. He was and will continue to be an inspiration for people all over the country. We will hold his family close in our prayers.

Frank was a lovely man, immensely talented surgeon and friend to the nurses at North Fulton. We always knew it would be a great shift if Frank was on ER ortho call.
