Eva W. Nabors, 92, of Marietta died Monday morning, November 9, 2015, of natural causes. Born on March 31, 1923, in Toccoa, Georgia, she was the daughter of the late Dock Herbert Williams and Eva Robertson. Mrs. Nabors was preceded in death by her husband, Dewey T. Nabors, Sr., M.D., her sister Nylic Williams and her brothers William T. Williams and Dan Herbert Williams. She is survived by her sons, William Ledford Nabors, Sr. M.D. (Elizabeth) and Jeffery Robert Nabors (Beth); her step-sons Dewey T. Nabors, Jr. (Jan) and Allen T. Nabors (Carol); her step-daughter Susannah Swanson (Gordon); grandchildren, Rebecca Millar (Robert), William Ledford Nabors, Jr, and Corinne Elizabeth Nabors; niece Linda Williams Garner (James) and nephew Michael David Williams (Lori).
After moving with her family to Decatur, Georgia, as a young woman, she met her late husband while working in his office. After they were married, Mrs. Nabors became a homemaker while she raised her family. During that time she was also active in a number of charitable organizations and was one of the founding members of the Crawford Long Hospital Ladies Axillary.
A private graveside service will be held on Friday, November 13, 2015 at Arlington Memorial Park, the Reverend Ashley Lytle officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to either the First United Methodist Church of Atlanta or a charity of your choice.
