Charlotte Edmondson Goulding, age 86, passed away January 21, 2017. She was born on April 7, 1930, to Rolfe and Marguerite Edmondson of Decatur, Georgia. Charlotte is survived by her twin sister Marguerite Pendleton Harvey, her son Frank Ross Goulding and his wife Sandra Moore Goulding, her daughter Anne Randolph Goulding and her husband Kelly Bandlow, her grandson Lt. John Randolph Goulding of the United States Marine Corps, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins whom she loved dearly. She was predeceased by her daughter Julianna Goulding in March of 2005, by her loving husband Randolph Goulding in October of 2014, and her brother Rolfe Edmondson in December of 2014. Charlotte attended Girl’s High School before graduating from Bass High in 1948. She was a dynamic, kind, and fun-loving woman who cared greatly for others, as evidenced in part by the many social engagements she volunteered to organize for family, friends, church, and other organizations near and dear to her heart. Many who know her understand that she gave her all to make sure that people felt welcome in her life and in her home. In fact, her love of people extended to those who had also gone on before her, as evidenced in part by her love of taking time to honor and celebrate individuals involved in important historical events and learning as much as she could about her ancestry through her activities with the Daughters of the American Revolution and the United Daughters of the Confederacy. The funeral service will be at 3pm on Saturday, January 28, 2017, at H.M. Patterson and Son’s Arlington Chapel located at 173 Allen Road, Sandy Springs, GA 30328. Burial will be immediately following at St. James Episcopal Cemetery in Marietta, GA. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Christ Church of Atlanta, The Fountainview Center for Alzheimer’s Disease, or a charity of your choice.
