Bonnie Sue Ivey Cochran, age 73, passed peacefully in her sleep the morning of March 30, 2025. Bonnie was a long time member of Roswell First Baptist Church, a loving wife, a devoted mother, and a cherished friend. Bonnie was born December 3, 1951, in Atlanta, Georgia. She attended Dykes high school in Atlanta, Georgia and then continued to Sullins College in Bristol, Virginia.
She was the heart of our family, always there to offer a listening ear, a warm hug, and unwavering support. Bonnie found joy with her horses, traveling and ballroom dancing. She had a philanthropic spirit and was the source of inspiration to all who knew her. She was an accomplished equestrian, earning numerous awards at hunter jumper competitions all over the country and later becoming a mentor to younger riders. She was a beautiful and graceful competitive ballroom dancer, a proud American, and above all, a Christian.
Bonnie is survived by her loving husband of 53 years, William Earl “Billy” Cochran, her devoted son Jody Frazier Cochran, her grandson William Corbin Cochran, Sister Marjorie Knight, Nephew Darryl Knight, Stepmother Patty Boykin and Stepsister Elizabeth Vagnoni. She was preceded in death by her mother Virginia Ivey, father Harold William Ivey, her younger brother Harold William Ivey, Jr “Chip”, and her oldest son, William Earl “Billy” Cochran Jr.
Bonnie will be laid to rest at Arlington Memorial Cemetery on Friday, April 4, 2025. Visitation for family and friends will begin at HM Patterson - Arlington, at 11:30am with chapel service beginning at 1:00pm. Private graveside ceremony will be held at 2:00pm at Arlington for family and close friends.
