She was born to the late Kenneth and Elizabeth Weaver (Wixon) on February 5, 1959 at Cape Cod Hospital in Hyannis, MA. Sue graduated from Sandwich High school in 1977. She married her childhood sweetheart Andrew H. Burbank in 1980. They had two children together and celebrated their 40th anniversary in 2020.
While she had a career at schools in Sandwich for around a decade, she spent most of her life as a doting mother, grandmother and aunt to many children over the years. Everyone enjoyed their time with her because of her loving, fun and carefree personality. She had a kind soul and always put everyone first. She had a special bond with all animals and most recently with her two adoring cats. Sue also enjoyed spending countless hours gardening and was very artistic. She loved to draw, paint and work on a variety of craft projects.
She was a best friend, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, friend and many other things to so many people. There are not enough words to describe the wonderful person she was. Sue will be missed dearly by all who knew and loved her.
She is survived by her husband Andrew; son and daughter-in law Daniel Burbank and Jessica Ogarek of Providence, RI; daughter and son-in-law Samantha Burbank and Christopher Tenters of Marston’s Mills and their son, Andrew; sister Karen Weaver and her significant other Ron Cooper of Mashpee; brother Robert Weaver of Yarmouth; James Weaver and his significant other Rita Noyes of Sandwich; Kenneth Weaver of Hyannis; sister-in law and brother-in-law Leslie and Rex Forte of Colorado; brother-in law and sister-in-law Glen and Marybeth Burbank of Sandwich; brother-in-law and sister-in-law Kevin and Margaret Burbank of Sandwich; sister-in law Ann Burbank and her significant other Gerald Scott of Sandwich; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, great nieces and great nephews.
A private memorial service will be planned at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests those who wish to express sympathy to consider making a donation to the American Heart Association in Susan’s name.
