Steven David Cole

Steven David Cole age 61, of Marston’s Mills, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday April 5th. Steven is survived by his wife Leda (Braga) Cole, her daughter Emily, his children Joshua and Jillian Cole and their mom Kathie. He also leaves behind his mother Teresa (Emiliano) Cole, sister Maria Gemei, brother Albert Belmonte, his wife Allison, nephews Robert Belmonte and Armando Gemei and niece Elizabeth Belmonte, as well as his extended family of aunts, uncles and cousins. He was predeceased by his father K. Robert Cole. Steven will also be missed by a host of friends whom he considered family.

Steve grew up on the Cape where he attended Barnstable High School, graduating in 1983. As a kid he loved to ride BMX bikes and competed on the BMX circuit traveling the country with friends. As an adult he went on to establish a successful business, Steven Cole Custom Homes and Remodeling, building many beautiful homes along the shores of the Cape. He was a true craftsman and took great pride in his skills. In his spare time, he was active in his kid’s life, coaching sports teams and cheering them on. He was incredibly proud of them as adults and mentored them in their professional lives. Steve married Leda and they had 13 wonderful years together. They enjoyed traveling to many beach destinations, laughing, loving each other and enjoying life. Steve and Leda were true soulmates and had so many plans for their future.

Our hearts are broken, he will be remembered fondly and missed by so many.

Visiting hours will be Saturday, April 26th from 2pm-5pm at Nickerson-Bourne Funeral Home, 154 Route 6A, Sandwich, MA. A Celebration of Life will take place over the summer.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to The Steven David Cole Memorial Fund and will be used as a “Tool Award” to benefit a graduating student entering the field of Carpentry.
