Kimball, Paul Frederick, 80, of Sandwich, MA passed away peacefully at Royal of Falmouth on September 8, 2020. He was born in Needham, MA on April 22, 1940 to the late Carleton and Gertrude Kimball (Morton).
Paul grew up in Needham and graduated Newton trade school there, he then joined the Navy Sea Bees, served in the Vietnam War and Guantanamo Bay. After he was discharged he joined the Dewitt Clinton Masonic Lodge in Sandwich for over 50 years and was a member of the American Legion. He was also a self-made finish carpenter who worked for himself.
He was married for 36 years and survived his late wife Joan Marie Kimball (O’Brien) who passed in 2006. He is survived by his daughter Ellen M. and husband Brett Fitzgerald of Sandwich, MA, Sister Jean Altobello of Pembroke, MA, Grandkids; Paul Kimball Fitzgerald and Sarah Noelle Fitzgerald of Sandwich, MA, brother/sister in law William and Kerin Lyons of Sandwich, MA., and many nieces and nephews. He also leaves behind his best friend Sheila his beloved pug.
A funeral service will be held Saturday September 12th, 10am at the Nickerson-Bourne Funeral Home, 154 RT. 6A, followed by burial at 11am, Sandwich Town Cemetery, Sandwich, MA. Visiting hours will be held Friday September 11th, 4-7pm.
In lieu of flowers please donate in Paul’s name to the American Legion Post 188, Sandwich, MA or to the Barton Center for Diabetes Education, North Oxford, MA in his granddaughter Sarah’s name.
