MA.
Michael was born on July 26, 1988 to Michael and Aileen Duarte (Mikaelian). He grew up on Cape Cod
and became a Merchant Mariner soon after finishing high school. He voyaged the dirty waters of Boston
Harbor on tugboats for a few years before joining Savage Marine as an Engineer on the ATB Abundance,
working with some of his best friends.
Michael will be remembered for his selflessness, love for others, and his charm. He was one of the most
kind-hearted individuals, making everyone around him want to be the best version of themselves.
Michael loved being outdoors, whether walking or driving on the beach with his girlfriend and dog,
hiking and skiing, or dirt biking. He also loved pizza and iced coffee, the summertime and the beach,
playing little pranks, buying new socks and had a habit of stopping to pet every dog he passed. He will be
deeply missed by all who had the pleasure of meeting him.
Michael leaves behind his parents, Michael and Aileen, of Sandwich, his sister, Krysten Hambrook, and
her husband, Corey, and daughter Raelyn, of Stratham, NH, his longtime girlfriend, Megan Congro and
their dog, Maggie, of Sandwich, his grandmothers, Mary Duarte of Oceanside, CA and Ruth Mikaelian as
well as a number of aunts, uncles, cousins and an army of close friends. He is predeceased by his
grandfathers George Duarte and Nazar Mikaelian.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the MSPCA in remembrance of Michael.
