Mary Elizabeth Ferin

Mary E. (Stuart) Ferin of E. Sandwich died on August 6, 2011 after a brief illness. Born in Quincy on July 24, 1915, Mary retired from Raytheon Corporation after 28 years. She was predeceased by her husband of 40 years, John R. Stuart of Quincy and her second husband of 7 years, Frank O. Ferin of Sandwich and Clearwater Beach, Fla. Mary is survived by a daughter, Jacquelyn Elvander and her husband George of E. Sandwich and a son, Richard J. Stuart and his wife Gloria of Roslindale. She also leaves five grandchildren: Debra of Sandwich, Gayle and her husband Tom of Plymouth, Pamela Taylor of Bourne, Vicki Stuart and her husband Phil of Maine, and Traci Stuart of Plainville. Mary was predeceased by her granddaughter Dawn Stuart Butler. She is also survived by nine great-grandchildren: Kate, Kelsey, and Molly Finnegan; Kristin, Mary and Patrick Taylor; Kaitlyn and Kayla Hurley; and Keerie Auld; and four great-great grandchildren: Kaylie Franklin, Elijah and Jeremiah Duarte of Sandwich and Jordan Taylor of Bourne. Also survived by a stepson, Bruce Ferin and his wife Joann of Dalton and their children and grandchildren Renee, Gabriel and Nadia LeBlanc, Lauren Ferin and son Simon Kneeland and Barry Jo Ferin and daughter Sophia LaFranzia. Mary will also be sadly missed by several nieces and nephews.

Visiting hours will be held on Thursday, August 11, 2011 from 10 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 1 p.m. in the Nickerson-Bourne Funeral Home, 154 Route 6A in Sandwich. Burial will follow in the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne.
