

Glode, John Bernard Jr., 86, of East Sandwich, MA, passed away on March 17, 2025 at home with his loving wife, Marcia, by his side. He was born in Littleton, NH to the late John Bernard and Muriel, née Gale, Glode on April 18, 1938.
John grew up in Needham, MA and graduated from Needham High School. He then went on to the University of Pennsylvania and Northeastern University, earning a bachelor’s degree in business.
He established Catamount Manufacturing, a cable tie company in Orange, MA, and was its successful owner for twenty years. Even well into retirement, he remained an active member of TEC International. In addition, his lifelong enthusiasm for sports led him to coach in numerous youth programs, and to this day is known by many simply as “Coach.” Likewise, as a dedicated father and grandfather, he spent several hours a week at soccer matches, horse shows, track and field events, baseball games, and theatre productions, to name a few.
He was predeceased by his son Jim (Brenda) Glode. In addition to his wife of twenty-five years, Marcia, he is survived by his sisters Betty Hadfield and Gini (Bob) Kopnisky; son Bill (Lynne) Glode; daughter Kristen Fam; stepdaughters Deanna (Brian) Lurvey, Brenda (Chuck) Phillips and Nicole Burgund; stepsons Darren (Viri) Hawkins, David Hawkins and Eric Burgund; as well as twenty-one grandchildren and five greatgrandchildren.
A celebration of John’s life will be held on Sunday, August 10, 2025 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Johnny Kelley Recreation Area in South Dennis, MA.
