UGGERHOLT, Janice (Jan) (Stulpin), 82, of Sandwich, MA passed away on January 4, 2021 at the McCarthy Care Center in Sandwich, MA. She was born to the late Zigmund Stulpin and Helen Howes of Middleboro, Massachusetts on November 27, 1938.
Janice grew up in Middleboro where she attended elementary and high school. She married Ronald Brule in 1955 and moved to Hawaii where Ronald was stationed in the Marine Corps. After moving back to Massachusetts, they eventually relocated to Sandwich with their three children, Ronald, Jacqueline & Donna Brule. In 1970 Janice returned to the workforce as a secretary at the Henry T. Wing School, a job she loved and excelled at. She took great pride in her organizational skills which were highly regarded by her colleagues at the school. Jan loved the beach, the mountains, sewing, arts and crafts, quilting and writing. Many of the people in Janice’s life still have the treasured crafts she made for them over the years. Later in life Janice would remarry to Chris Uggerholt, a firefighter in Sandwich. Together they enjoyed traveling around the state and New England to attend musters and go snowmobiling. In 1990 when the Wing School was being renovated, Jan went to work for the principal at the Oak Ridge School in East Sandwich. In 1993 she took an early retirement and moved to Vermont, one of her most favorite places in New England. In Vermont Jan worked part time at two schools, first in Randolph for Ray McGrath, and then in Stowe. She lived in Vermont until 2014 when she had a medical event that would bring her back to Sandwich to be with her family. Once again on Cape Cod she enjoyed the seaside surroundings and reconnected with old friends.
Jan is survived by her daughters Jacqueline "Jackie" Stewart and husband Darren of Sandwich, MA and Donna Jachowicz of Marshfield, MA; by her grandchildren Emmie and Ben Jachowicz; and by her loving cat Simba. She was predeceased by her son Ronald Andrew Brule in 2009.
Donations may be made in Jan’s memory to the MSPCA or animal rescue charity of your choice.
