

He was born to George and Eugenia (Powers) Parsons on May 19, 1925, in Newton. On Nov 3, 1946 , he was united in marriage to Kathryn L. Woolaver in Belmont, Mass, where he raised his family until relocating to Cape Cod in the 1980’s.
George served his country in the United States Air Force, based in places such as Germany and India. After being discharged, he re -enlisted in the Army Reserves.
He worked as a supervisor at The South Postal Annex in Boston until his retirement in 1989.
George was a golfer, bowler and was involved in coaching little league baseball for his sons .He was also an avid Bruins hockey fan, never missing a game. His fondest memory was seeing Bobby Orr score his first goal at the Boston Garden. He enjoyed playing cards, especially Poker, where he rarely missed his weekly game.
Preceding him in death were his parents, his wife Kathryn, his brother William Parsons and sister Evelyn Masters.
Those left to cherish his memory are his children; Kate Hutchinson and her husband Daniel of W. Barnstable, Jeff Parsons of Natick, Timothy Parsons of Hyannis, Stephen Parsons and his wife Erin of Ft. Myers, FL, and Lawrence Parsons of Plymouth,. He is also survived by his grandchildren Amy Hutchinson, Jill Parsons, Mike Parsons, Tom Rielly, John Rielly, Matthew Parsons, Joshua Parsons, Christopher Parsons, Andrew Parsons, Dana Parsons, and one great-grandson Caleb Parsons.
Friends may share respects with the family on Monday March 9, from 4:00 to 8:00 PM, at Nickerson-Bourne Funeral Home, 154 Rte. 6A, Sandwich, MA 02563.
There will be a funeral mass on Tuesday, March 10, at 11:00 AM, at the Corpus Christi Parish, Father George Harrison, presider. Burial will follow at the National Cemetery in Bourne.
