DELUCA, Dominic Joseph, 23, of Sandwich, MA passed away after battling with Leukemia on Saturday October 3, 2020 at Brigham & Women’s Hospital in Boston, MA. He was born on June 27, 1997 in Sandwich, MA to his loving parents Daniel J. and Dorothy (Dottie) Deluca (Czyzowski).
Dominic grew up in Sandwich and graduated from Sandwich High School in 2015. He attended one year at Massachusetts Maritime Academy before being diagnosed with AML.
Dominic, or Dom to his friends and family, played football and lacrosse in high school. He enjoyed seeing his multitude of cousins and hanging out with his friends. He was a good student who made the President’s list before having to drop out of MMA. The last four years of his life was marked by his battle against AML. His dogs Jewels and Ghost provided him with a daily distraction from his illness and they will miss him terribly.
He is survived by his parents, his sister Michelle and his grandparents Al and Louise DeLuca and Dorothy Czyzowski, his uncles Brett Levangie, Mike Czyzowski, and Al DeLuca, and his aunt Jennifer O’Brien as well as too many cousins to list. He was predeceased by his grandfather Michael Czyzowski.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday October 9th at Corpus Christi Parish, 1pm, 326 Quaker Meeting House Rd. Sandwich, MA. Followed by burial at Sandwich Town Cemetery. Visiting Hours will be held on Thursday, October 8th from 3-5PM with a break in between until 7-9PM, the funeral home will be closed during the break. Due to the Covid-19 Pandemic, masks are required and social distancing must be practiced.
