Charlotte Jeanne Sullivan (Balsis), daughter of John and Vida Balsis, was born in Middleboro, MA, on 30 August 1944. She grew up as the middle child (Joanne Badgio, older sister, deceased, and younger brother, Robert Balsis), and graduated from Brockton High School in 1962, followed by Brockton Hospital School of Nursing in 1965.
After high school graduation, Charlotte Jeanne met a tall and humorous guy (John “Jack” Sullivan), who was just charming enough to attract the attention of Charlotte Jeanne. Through all of life’s trials and tribulations, they fostered an equal partnership and loving marriage for nearly 58 years.
Throughout her nursing career, she gained expertise in surgery, pediatrics, primary and home healthcare, and she capped her career as an occupational health administrator for the United States Postal Service. She retired in Sandwich, MA, with her husband Jack in June 2007, and became a parishioner of Corpus Christi Catholic Church.
Charlotte had an affinity for anything pink, chocolate, craft fairs, and anything Christmas-themed no matter the time of year. But most of all, she loved providing a nurturing and safe household for her husband and children. No one ever left her house without feeling appreciated, comforted, and well-fed. There will never be enough words to express what Charlotte brought to every life she touched.
After surviving a heart attack in 2000, Charlotte became even more determined, independent, and dedicated to her family. Despite working as a registered nurse, she made every effort to attend her children's extracurricular activities. Charlotte left behind an extraordinary example of selflessness for her children and grandchildren to follow. To them, she was a bona fide superhero.
Charlotte is survived by her husband, Jack, her 6 children, Stephany Connell and her husband, Michael; Michael Sullivan and his wife Sonya; Kelly Sullivan; Tracy Herrera and her husband Martel; Peter Sullivan; Erin Sullivan and her wife Taylor. She was the doting grandmother of ten grandchildren: Tyler, Spencer and Hayley Connell, Aidan and Declan Sullivan, Fallon Huffman, Reilly, Sydney and Wynter Herrera, and Samson Sullivan; and great grandmother of Kai Connell.
Charlotte is also survived by her younger brother, Robert Balsis, his wife Diane, and numerous nieces, nephews, and their children.
