Patricia Anne Vincent passed away peacefully on November 2. She was a proud San Franciscan, born in SF on Feb 24, 1931, to an Irish Mother, Josephine Lane and German Father, Joseph Schunk. She was affectionately called Peachie by all her childhood friends and family. Peachie went to St. Anne’s grammar school, Presentation High School and then attended USF.
On May 3, 1952 Pat married Ken Vincent at St. Anne’s Church. Ken was then drafted in the Army and sent to Korea at the end of that year. Their daughters Nancy and Diane were born in 1953 and 1955 respectively.
Pat was preceded in death by her daughter Diane, and her 3 sisters, Joan, Barbara and Virginia. She is survived by her beloved husband Ken, daughter Nancy, son-in-law Gary, and grandchildren Caitlin Sullivan (Ben) of Phoenix and Colin Green of Rohnert Park and cousins, nieces and nephews.
Pat lived her whole childhood in the Sunset District. The family lived in Park Merced until 1960, when they escaped the SF fog and moved to San Rafael. They lived 11 years in Marinwood before moving to Ignacio. They then found their final forever home in Terra Linda in 1978.
Pat was a devout Catholic and member of St. Isabella’s Parish since it was built in 1961.
She enjoyed family vacations to ‘The River’, Lake Tahoe and a few trips to So Calif. and Disneyland.
Pat went back to work part-time at the new Emporium when Northgate opened.
She was an avid 49er fan and Sf Giants fan. She and Ken had season tickets to the 49ers and attended 2 Super Bowls. They went to the Giants Spring Training in Scottsdale every year for the month of March for 25 years where they had a network of friends. After Pat and Ken’s retirements they enjoyed more world wide travel. They traveled the world on 20 Tauck Tours and had many memorable adventures.
Pat joined The St. Mary’s College Women’s Guild, became their secretary, and enjoyed their functions, especially the annual fashion show. They were supporters of SMC basketball and baseball programs and had season tickets for many years. Pat enjoyed the sunny outdoors, walking and caring for her grandchildren when they were young.
We would like to give special thanks to
“3 Home Village” for their care the last 2 weeks of Pat’s life. We also give thanks to Lisa Benson RN from Hospice by the Bay for her exceptional care and for treating us like family.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Isabella’s Church in San Rafael on Tues, Nov 9 at 11am. Donations in Pat’s name can be made to St. Mary’s College Athletic Fund.
