Bob Slattery

Bob was born in San Francisco, CA on December 17, 1927, to Robert Thomas Slattery and Mary Leahy Slattery from Ireland. After graduating from Sacred Heart High School he enlisted in the Army in 1945. After his discharge, he attended USF on a GI bill and graduated as Class Valedictorian in 1951. Soon after, Bob found a lifelong career at Allstate Insurance Company.

In 1952, Bob married Margaret Barbara Fager and they raised their family in San Francisco and later in San Rafael. An avid golfer and traveler, Bob also enjoyed outdoor activities with his children, and spending time with family and friends. Bob lived his life to the fullest and will be remembered for his ready laugh, quick wit, and generous spirit.

Predeceased by his parents, his 4 siblings (John, Kay, Richard and Marie) and his granddaughter Caitlin Maureen Slattery, Bob is survived by his wife of 64 years, Marge, his four children and their spouses; Brian and Kathleen Hayes Slattery of Marin, Kevin and Sylvia Robbins Slattery of Raleigh, NC, Mark and Maureen Coletti Slattery of Marin, and Christine and Scott Kennedy of East Boothbay, ME; his grandchildren: Patrick Slattery and his wife Erin Moore, Lauryn Slattery, James and David Slattery; his great-granddaughters Pressley and Jordyn; and many nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life will be held Tuesday, January 17 at 1:00pm at Keaton’s Mortuary, 1022 E Street, San Rafael, CA.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests a donation in his name to Camp Okizu Foundation or to the charity or your choice.
