Mary Frances Warren

Mary Frances was born January 29, 1936 in Livingston, AL to Willie James and Janie Lee Browder. After marrying Andrew Vernon Warren, they decided to move to California in 1964. Raising her children was truly her God given ministry. She dedicated her life to raising her seven children. She invested her time, energy and resources into raising them. This she viewed truly as a labor of love with no regrets. Along with devotion to her children she also did not forget others. She made it a point to remember the special moments in their lives by sending cards and making phone calls. She made others feel welcomed in her home. To her children friends she was known as “MOM”.

Mary Frances was employed at Rockwell International for 10+ years. After her retirement from Rockwell, she decided to spend some time visiting with her children, around the country. First to Kansas City, MO where she lived with her son Darryl; and then she moved to Charlotte, NC where she lived with daughter Andrea and then later maintained her own apartment. A few years later she moved back to California where she resided in a home owned by her son Ronald in Oakland, CA. During the holidays she spent time with daughter Marilynn and family in Bakersfield, CA. When she became ill Arlene and family decided it was time for mom to come live with them in San Leandro, CA. During this time Arlene and Ronnie along with their families balanced their personal lives and work schedules to take care of mom endlessly with love and compassion.

Mary Frances was a survivor of cancer for 5 years, but until recently it was discovered that another form of cancer was present. Mom was fighter and had a strong will to live until the end. During the last days of her life she held on long enough see all seven of her children including some of her grandchildren and great grandchildren. On July 28, 2014 God called her home to rest from her battle and she passed peacefully before dawn.

Those left to cherish her memories include her brother Herbert White, seven children (and spouses): Ronald Browder; daughter-in-law Diana Browder; Glenn Garner, Marilynn Taylor; son-in-law Rey Taylor; Andrea Faulk, son-in-law Joe Faulk; Arlene McMahan, son-in-law Randy McMahan, Darryl Warren, Andrew Warren Jr., twelve grandchildren: Alondra Chatman, Maurice Chatman, Raasahn Browder, Benjamin Browder, India Browder, Dion Garner, Shatesha Garner, LaRey Taylor, Marquis Taylor, Jameel Taylor, Crystal Etheridge, Martell Nelms, Monet McMahan and Keyshawn Warren; and four great grandchildren: Jordan Browder, Sumayah Chatman, Amare Chatman and Minaya Etheridge and a host of nephews, nieces, and other relative and friends. Mary Frances was preceded in death by her husband Andrew Vernon Warren, her sister Evelyn Chambliss and brother AG White.

A memorial service will be held on Monday, August 11, 2014 at 12 noon. A private viewing will be held one hour prior to service. Location of service will be held at Dignity Memorial, San Leandro Funeral Home 407 Estudillo Ave San Leandro, CA 94577.
