I met Juan and Judy when I was a teenager in San Juan in the 1960’s.  We met through sailing as my father, Ken Brown, had a sailboat named Taneek. I have fond memories of Juan, who was larger than life. I feel fortunate to have known him.

On behalf of the Wirt Torruella family we would like to thank everyone for your kind words and support.  He was admired and loved by all of us.  He was our Dad, Pops, Billo and Pampy to the grandkids.  Due to Covid we have decided we would like to honor our dad at a later date.

For the last few years, I have had the honor of sharing some quality time with Judge Juan Torruella at the meetings of the Plymouth Rock Stamp Club.  Judge Torreulla was always a kind and gentle man.

Hola, Judy, Buck, Nini, Mikee, Judicita... this is Tiffany Torruella writing to tell you I am with you and you are in my heart and thoughts during these times.  Upon his passing, I realized Billo was my Yin-Yang who taught me to love, respect and balance opposing views within my soul...  I learned to love him with Titi Letty during my childhood,  had different ideals and many doubts during my early years, and learned to love and respect opposite views in my middle age and senior years.  I believe Billo and I shared a lifetime of different lessons  between us but we always agreed we deserved a better Puerto Rico.  I believe we can get there and I shared that the last time we spoke when he called me when  Freddie passed on.  Let us honor him and do It...

I am sending thoughts and prayers to Juan's family and friends. He will be sorely missed. Having read some of his life experiences I realize how little I really knew about Juan. I am grateful to have spent time with him as a  member of the Plymouth Rock Stamp Club.  I will miss his smile, his knowledge, his passion for life and love of family and friends. Til we meet again...

Will always remember you...now sailing "new seas" with my dear Rudy. 
Will never forget  your beautiful words, particularly those towards me and your nephew, Jorge Oscar, in Rudy's funeral service.
