In the early morning of November 6, 2020 at 5:10 am Zola (MaMe) Marie Doise joined her Lord and Savior in her Heavenly home. She was surrounded by family, her dog, Pilune and she was able to visit with her Pastor Scott and many friends. Zola has left us to be reunited with her Husband Earl, Son Brent and many of the other family and friends that have gone on before her.
Zola was born in Mamou, Louisiana on February 27, 1922 to Willie and Fayme Guillory McGee. At an early age Zola lost her mother and had to take on raising her 3 of her siblings. In 1946, Zola reunited with Earl Doise after his service in World Word II and they married.
Earl and Zola were very dedicated to their Christianity and followed parishioners to San Jose, California to build the San Jose Bible College now known as William Jessup University. They had two children once they arrived in San Jose, Linda and Brent. Zola focused on raising her children and supporting the family business. She was known for her cooking, her love of gardening and hosted many gatherings for her church family. Earl and Zola were founding members of Green Valley Church of Christ. As they moved into their Senior years, hosting the Senior luncheon and Bible Study group in their home was her Christian commitment for many years.
Zola was very proud of her Cajun heritage and shared her recipes with family and friends. We will miss her making a pot of Gumbo and her perfect parker rolls served with homemade strawberry freezer jam, yum!!
Zola is survived by her sister Joy Strickland, Daughter Linda, Son-in-law Gary, Grandchildren John, Shannon, Blake and Joshua, Grandchildren-in-law Gina and Ryan, Great-grandchildren John Jr., Sarah and Greyson, Great-Great Grandchild Lucas.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations be made in Zola's name to William Jessup University www.williamjessup.com.
