It is with deepest regret that the Sandoval Family announces the passing of Yvonne Sandoval. She was born in Scunthrope, England on August 18, 1935, and passed away in her sleep to be with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ at the age of 88. Her parents were Thomas Burrell and Dorothy Shinn (Coldecot) from Scunthrope, England. She was married to Daniel Sandoval for 65 years. She leaves behind three daughters, Michele, Caron and Debra, her son-in-law Eric, seven grandchildren Aaron, Janelle (Sean), David (Nicole), Kelsey, Kristen, Tyler and Heather. She was a great-grandmother to Hershel, Ernest and Hunter. Yvonne’s siblings were Keith and she was preceded in death by her brother Allen earlier in the year. She met Daniel in 1955 when he was stationed with the United States Air Force in England. During their many posting between Air Forces bases in the United Kingdom and the United States she always joined the British Wives Clubs and became President of the club on January 16, 1970. When Daniel retired from the Air Force, they moved to his native San Jose. During the years she worked as a Yard Duty Monitor at Lynnhaven Elementary School and at Mervyns in Campbell from 1976 and retired in 2007 with 32 years of service. She kept working at Mervyns part-time until they closed on January 9, 2009. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Services will be held on Thursday, December 21, 2023, with the viewing at 10:00 a.m., service to begin at 10:30 a.m. and reception to follow until 1:15 p.m. at the Willow Glen Funeral Chapel, San Jose, which will be officiated by Senior Pastor Edward Crable. The burial will be held at the Gate of Heaven Catholic Cemetery in the Veterans area in Los Altos on December 21, 2023, at 2:00 p.m. following the chapel service.
