Virginia Rocca Barton

heaven at 5:22 p.m. on Monday, May 7th 2018. Mrs. Barton was born on July 20, 1918 in St.

Maries Idaho as the 3rd daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Filippo Rocca. Preceding her departure were

her husband, E. Earl Barton, sister Carmelina Douglas, sister Mary Rocca, sister Helen Gilbert

and brother Victor Rocca. Virginia is survived by her loving nieces, Virginia Schroeder, Nicole

Laidlaw and nephew Philip Rocca. She is also survived by the apple of her eye, great nephew

Cody Angelo Rocca.

Virginia Rocca Barton was a lifelong educator, first as a teacher then as Vice Principal, Principal

and finally as Superintendent of the Alisal School District. She was honored for her

achievements in education by having an elementary school named after her, the Virginia Rocca

Barton School. She was very active in the local community and inspired a generation of

teachers and students alike. Her larger than life personality will be missed.

Final services will be held at Oak Hill Funeral Home and Memorial Park at 300 Curtner Ave. San

Jose CA, 95125 on Friday, May 25th 2018. Services at 10:30 a.m. in Chapel of the Roses.

Burial at 11:30 a.m. graveside. The family welcomes your attendance
