Victoria was born on September 14, 1939 to Angela Sanglay Petrache and Pedro Nay Papas in her beloved city of Bicol Province, Philippines. She was one of nine siblings: late Aurora, late Florentina, late Janalita, late Ibarra, Luisa, Romeo, Nedy, and Ramon. All nine siblings attended college; an astronomical feat for the family. She attended University of Adamson and studied Education.
In 1980, she emmigrated to San Jose, California, where she joined some of her siblings, Janalita, Luisa, Ibarra, Ramon and their father Pedro. It was in San Jose, an unfamiliar place, in an unfamiliar country, that she began to build a new life with her family. Victoria was an exemplary sister and human being. She embodied the strongest of qualities: unconditional love, strength of spirit, and unwavering freedom that she showed traveling the world with her friends and family, especially when reminiscing about her Alaskan adventures with her beloved sister Janalita.
For over 25 years, Victoria dedicated herself to Advanced Micro Device as an Assembly Technician, a testament to her steadfast work ethic. Upon retirement, she continued her journey in the realm of education, where her passion for nurturing young minds, particularly those with special needs, earned her widespread acclaim and numerous accolades.
Victoria was a devout Catholic and carried out the divine message of God. Victoria was big hearted, vibrant, and radiated a strong spirit. She accepted everyone with an open heart, open arms, and a perpetual smile. She had immense passion for her family, spiritual work, singing, and an unshakeable love of sports. Victoria was adventurous, especially with her two closest friends: Corazon and Carmen, often exceeding the expectations of those who knew her.
Her departure comes as a great shock and a deep wound, and it is gravely felt by her entire family and countless others who loved her deeply in her community. The family profoundly appreciates your support during this difficult time and asks that you pray for her and contribute by sharing memories of our beloved Victoria during our Chapel Blessing.
