San Jose, CA – Rudy M. Quibelan, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend, passed away quietly on October 10, 2024, at the age of 90 after a courageous three-year battle with lymphoma.
Rudy is lovingly remembered by his devoted wife of 70 years, Elaine Quibelan (Ragsac), his son, Gary Quibelan (Stacy), daughter, Vivien Q. Thompson (Michael), his 10 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. Rudy was preceded in death by his youngest son, Jason Quibelan (Cherissa); his parents, Raymond and Diaga Quibelan; his sisters, Dorothy Wilhelm, Adeline Ridola, Lillian Peneyra; and his brother, Raymond Quibelan Jr..
A proud veteran, Rudy served in the U.S. Air Force from 1953 to 1957, achieving the rank of Airman 1st Class. He dedicated nearly five decades of his life to Lockheed Martin, working as a Design Engineer until his retirement. In addition to his engineering career, Rudy shared his passion for martial arts as a Si Fu at House of 9 Dragons, teaching Kung Fu to students ranging in age from 5 to 80.
Rudy was a man of many talents. He found joy in playing the piano and ukulele, often sharing his love of music with anyone nearby. An avid card player, he delighted in a game of Bourré with his family and loved to engage in friendly competition playing double solitaire with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, often celebrating his victories with laughter.
In his later years, Rudy found joy in the excitement of Keno machines at Caesars Tahoe, where he could be found enjoying the thrill of the game. His laughter, humor, and warm spirit will be greatly missed by family and friends alike.
Rudy leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and cherished memories. Forever he will remain in our hearts.
