Ruben Diaz was called home to the Lord on July 6, 2013. He was a man of great musical passion. He began singing along to records playing on a gramophone at the age of 7. Even at his young age, he knew he was meant to sing and sing he did. Ruben Diaz became an International Mexican singer. Along with being a song writer, singer and composer, he sang with many famous singers and recorded songs such as POR TANTO QUERERTE, APOCO CRES and SANGRE MEXICANA that are so well loved today. He often donated his time to charity events and contributed his time to help celebrate his Mexican Heritage. He was loving, caring, generous and ambitious. His family was always his first priority and he worked very hard to provide for them. He is survived by his eight children, Ruben Daiz Jr., Joseph (Soledad) Diaz, William (Bernice) Diaz, Susana (Scott) Smylie, Mario (Olivia) Diaz, Diana (Daniel) Marquez, Martin (Francisca) Diaz, Sandra (Steven) Neville, a proud grandfather of 25, Iris, Tanya, Joseph Jr., Jason, Angela, Anthony, Monique, Maximus, Samuel, Mario Jr., Marissa, Melinda, Manuel, Julian, Jerry, Violet, Danika, Daniella, Devin, Angel, Bianca, Celestte, Brittney, Brianna and Christopher. He is a great grandfather of 7, Cara, Kyle, Brooke, Aubrey, Abel, Aiden, and Travis. He also survived by his brother Reymundo (Ruth) Diaz.A visitation will be held at Oak Hill Funeral Home Friday, July 12, 2013 at 9am with a funeral service 10am in the Chapel of Roses with burial to follow.
