In Loving Memory of Ronald Niel Brusaschetti
With great sadness we share that our dear Ronald Niel Brusaschetti passed away on April 8, 2024. Beloved by many, Ron’s kindness, warmth and generosity made him an inspiration for his wife, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was our bright golden light. Ron became ill in November 2023 and his condition worsened through the winter months. During his illness, Ron was hospitalized several times. His family will remember his determination to return to his balcony with a view of the Morgan Hill Valley and Hamilton Mountains. He married his wife, Grace Margherita, in 1963 and they had so many wonderful adventures. They traveled the world, loved their home, and hosted huge holiday celebrations. Ron was born on January 14, 1940, in San Jose, California. He was an ace athlete at James Lick High School and spent his youth on his family’s large working ranch in the Evergreen foothills of San Jose. He attended San Jose State College as a pre-med major before amending his vocational destiny to a career in cosmetology. Something of a celebrity to his clients in Willow Glen at the iconic Ronald’s Coiffures on Lincoln Avenue, Ron was a true gentleman and an archetype of style. He gave his final haircut to his grandson, Anthony, when the family gathered to celebrate his 84th birthday this January. Ron was a true-blue fan of the Niners, Giants, Warriors, Sharks and A’s (in that order) and a lifelong technical, tactical and encouraging coach. Sports was a strong connection for Ronald and his son, Paul. They spoke daily about sports, weather, Ron’s grandchildren and great grandchildren. They loved discussing our own athletic prodigies (from Lauren’s speed to Nico’s swing, Alyssa’s toughness,) and he loved and cheered them all. Ron shared close bonds with his grandchildren, Ashley, Alyssa, Lauren and Anthony. He cherished Ashley’s fierce loyalty and Anthony’s compassion and humor. He adored Alyssa’s laughter and joy and Lauren’s intellect and quick wit. As his family grew, so did his generosity. Ron is survived by his beautiful wife, Grace Margarita Brusaschetti, his best friend and son, Paul Brusaschetti and his constant political sparring partner and eternally devoted daughter, Jennifer Bell. Ron opened his heart to his daughter -in -law, Donna Kirby Brusaschetti and his son-in-law-and-fellow sports- fanatic, John Bell. He will be cherished in the memories of his grandchildren Ashley Brusaschetti (and her husband, Marcos), Alyssa Sutton (and her husband Levi), Lauren Bell and Anthony Bell. We will keep his memory alive for his great grandchildren Nico and Max Estrada and Walker Sutton. He is missed by his very large doodle dog named Bubbles. While our family grieves, we share that Ronald spent his last days at home, with his family, in the warm sunshine, watching the Women’s Final Four, eating well and drinking a beer. He was at peace. We will aspire to be like the man who was our everything. Very soon, the family will share plans for a celebration to honor Ronald’s memory. There will be a celebration of life on June 2, 2024, with details to follow.
